30 New employees from our heroes with Down syndrome join the McDonald’s family

We are proud to announce the addition of 30 new employees with Down syndrome to the McDonald's family during the last quarter of 2023. They have been hired to work in McDonald's restaurants in Riyadh, Qassim, Arar, and Hail. The number of our heroes with Down syndrome has now exceeded 100 employees in all of our restaurants and our main headquarters in Riyadh.

We pride ourselves on having 20 new employees with Down syndrome join our McDonald’s family, where they were hired to work at various locations in our restaurants in Al Riyadh, Qassim, Arar and Hail regions of the kingdom. Our heroes with Down syndrome total 73 in all of our restaurants and at our Riyadh headquarters.

McDonald's and the General Education in Al-Qassim Region sign a Memorandum of Understanding for the training and employment of students with Down syndrome

We signed a partnership agreement with the General Directorate of Education in Al-Qassim region to hire special education students with Down Syndrome in our restaurants in the presence of the Prince of Al-Qassim region H.R.H. Dr. Faisal bin Mishaal bin Saud bin Abdulaziz, and H. E. Minister of Education, Mr. Yusef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan.

Our Celebration Of 8 Down Syndrome Heroes’ Promotion In The Eastern Region

We celebrated with 8 Down syndrome heroes who were promoted recently to crew trainer positions after spending 3 years working in McDonald’s, it’s our Honor and delight to mention that our DS Employees who were promoted last 3 years reached 22 employees, including 3 were promoted to a shift manager position after spending 5 years and more with us.

Our Down Syndrome heroes got vaccinated to get back to work

Our 30 Down Syndrome employees have started getting their doses of Covid-19 vaccines to be able to safely get back to work. Since the pandemic started, we have asked them to temporarily stay at home to ensure their safety, and we were committed to paying their full salaries during that period.
