As part of its social responsibility and in support of sports activities, McDonald's Saudi Arabia participated in sponsoring and organizing the "Let’s Walk Together" event at King Faisal Schools' facilities in the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh.

More than 85 individuals with Down syndrome, across various age groups, took part in the event, which included races of different distances, such as 2000 meters, 1000 meters, 500 meters, and 200 meters. The races were categorized based on age group and health condition. The event also featured a 2-kilometer/2000-meter race, in which professional athletes with intellectual disabilities participated. Several associations and specialized centers for individuals with special needs and intellectual disabilities were also involved in the event.

The aim of the event was to raise awareness and provide an opportunity for children with Down syndrome to showcase their skills and abilities, while spreading greater awareness in the community about this important and cherished group. The event aligns with the initiatives of the Quality of Life Program, the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, and the promotion of community participation in sports activities for people with disabilities.

McDonald's contributed to the event by providing entertainment segments for children, free meals, T-shirts for participants and organizers, as well as meeting the race’s needs, including the tracks used for the competition.

It’s worth noting that this participation falls within McDonald's Saudi Arabia’s strategy to support individuals with Down syndrome and is part of its social responsibility platform, "Ajyalona."
